ISO 55000 Standards for Asset Management
The ISO 55000 family of standards comprises three documents:
ISO 55000 Asset management — Overview, principles and terminology
ISO 55001 Asset management — Management systems — Requirements
ISO 55002 Asset management — Management systems — Guidelines for the application of ISO 55001
ISO 55001 - Asset management system standard is released in 2014
- Asset management concerns about something, that is considered as asset, that has potential or actual value to an organization.
- Organization achieve its objectives through effective and efficient asset management
- An asset management system provides assurance that organizational objectives can be achieved consistently and sustainably.
- Asset management eanbles an organization to verify performance of, assets and asset systems at various heirarchy.
- Comparing asset performance to financial performance, and achieving organization objectives by managing assets, an organization can can improve it’s effectiveness and efficiency.
